Day One: “Warmth” — The Quality of Light

Trying to implement the trinity function in the photo camera in order to find out about the effects of those modes I’ve taken the photos above. It is clear that the first picture has less clarity and thus there isn’t a clear vision of the objects in the scene. I  applied there low sensitivity mode of about 1000, while the second picture has a sensitivity equal to 4000 that is why the exposition value is higher and one can recognize the objects in the scene without effort. It is a brighter scene. As for shutter speed and aperture, they are as 1/10 sec., and I’ll still have to experiment with taking the consecutive pictures too. Now I see that the amount of light is an important feature while taking a picture.

Day Ten: “Architecture” — Go Monochrome

These photo shots above are specially made to find out about the effect of black and white and I’ve learned that the black and white effect brings about a focus to shadows and interest to defining the black lines as I see it in the second photo above. So there is a kind of drama in black and white photos. I personally prefer the first photo, which is performed without any effects, I find it as real even there is a vivid blue colour in it. For me, more unreal is the third photo, which is done by “negative” effect and it really for me represents something “Hitchcockian,” so to say; there the white wall is converted into black and the darker objects vice versa into white, which looks really weird. In the future, I definitely will take some photos of buildings and landscape with such effects, so this moment I see that some objects look vivid in black and white effect; my eyes pay attention to the contrasts here than when they are performed with the no-effect mode. So, probably, sometimes the modes must be switched to different effects while taking a photo if there is a necessity to show a contrast and mood of the subject or the whole picture.

Day Nine: “A Pop of Color” — Incorporate Color

These photos above in a row I’ve taken some hours ago and become satisfied with the results because they are quite visible. At first, I was skeptic about the light source would much affect the main color. Now I see the impact is noticeable. So I applied the fluorescent light source; the daylight lamp source and cloudy light source. Also, I tried to play with the application of intense color onto the picture in PickMonkey and have learned a bit of saturation and temperature so now I have at least the idea of application of them to bring about the brightness of the color or vice versa to darken the subject or discolor it. I should say that the light sources have a significant influence on the color of the picture whether it is a background or foreground.

Day Eight: “Treasure” — Zoom In

I’ve just shot up this close up photo, this idea has come to me as the swift wind as I was watching the internet video. Although the idea has come so fast I really do think that my little netbook is my treasure. In this small metal thing, the very important functions are compacted, work interconnectedly, produce a product, let me connect with other people, do not let me be alone, help me think, be productive and continue on what I started years ago. It is a great organization.

Day Seven: “Big” — A Point of View

I would love to present this picture above in parallel with another —-

Surely the subject in these pictures is the woman – the motherland symbol and I tried to focus on her from a different perspective. Now I know that I should have thought about an unconventional way of approaching to her: from a different angle; to try to put it out of center thinking maybe about the rule of third; to have more sophisticated foreground. But the first picture is more meaningful than the second one so far by having the steps not only literally but also figuratively, which makes the first one to be more interesting.

Day Six: “Solitude” — The Rule of Thirds

This photo above I’ve found the most fitting for the theme of the sixth photo class, where I’ve tried to look on imagining the nine-square grid and place the main subject and the rest scene of the picture in the grid. Surely I’ve thought about the meaning of the main subject among the rest of the scene and I’ve understood that so far my pictures were taken as center-oriented and in most cases, I haven’t got the main subject and I’ve appealed wholly to the colors and lines. Here in the picture above the role of solitude is performed by the white fountain, which is in the upper left corner and which is not much small to show the greatness of the rest space as it is supposed to be in the ideal. The fountain is shadowed by the tree which is not present in the picture but the considerably open space to the right side of the fountain and above it are lit by the sun where I see a contrast and some balance between the subject and the rest side of it. And sure, in the future, I will take into consideration the idea of “solitude” and grid locating while taking any picture.

Day Five: “Connect” — Tag Your Photo

Last year, in late spring, I was fortunate to participate in the national festivity of Tatars called Sabantuy. I went to Voljskiy for it. The weather didn’t appear to be much pretty but I enjoyed different kinds of competitions, watched the concert performed by local dancing groups and the guest groups that came to Voljskiy even from Kazan, it is a capital of Tatarstan, regional state where mainly live Tatars and which is situated to the north of Volgograd Oblast,(region.) Also, I tasted the national dishes: shashlyk is like Turkish kebab and kinds of doughnuts.

The celebration was organized in the park and the participants of the competitions came from different ages. In this particular photo above the competitors appear to be the school boys. I remember that all the competitors tried hard to win the prize. They were nominated for those who belong to different weight categories. It is a pity that the sun had always been hiding during that event and the cold wind blew all the way and unfortunately I rushed home earlier because I started almost to shiver from the cold weather.
